On to the next one...

We all made it through Christmas, and it was a pretty enjoyable time. And just to start off... no, there was no little baby born over the holiday. So we wait.

On the other hand. We had a great time with both of our families just hanging out and celebrating Christ birth. This year was extremely different from our last Christmas. All the way though Christmas eve I was waiting for the snow to hit in and we'd be stuck, not able to go anywhere. But, I'm happy to say that didn't happen. Actually, it wasn't that bad outside weather wise. We had just enough snow to sort of cover the ground so it made it feel a little more like Christmas.

Christmas eve was spent with Katie's family. We went out for a couple hours before our church service in town just to get organized and be around family. I will say that even though our church is in a theater, our Christmas eve service went really well and just seemed to fit our church family. God works in mysterious ways sometimes and I would like to say thanks to Marcus Theaters at Village Pointe for clearing out our regular place for us to have our service. Such a special moment to reach out to those that may not normally go to church and it's in an environment that's very inviting to everyone and doesn't seem to be stiff collared or anything like that. Extremely casual and relaxed.

Anyway, after the service we went back out to the Lautenbach house to have a lasagna meal and then open a few gifts that we had bought eachother and then just chilled for a little bit. Opened some stockings and then pretty much went home.

Christmas day was spent with the Schweitzer family. We unfortunately didn't get to have grandma and grandpa Schweitzer come up for the day, they were missed by everyone but we did have a pretty good time just being around one another and getting to catch up. We made a decent size lunch in our kitchen, which I must say for no bigger than it is... we did pretty ok moving around one another and helping eachother out.

The day went by to fast and before we all really knew it, the day was over and it was time for most of the family to head home. The one nice thing of using our house for get togethers is that we don't have to go very far to get back to bed. Once the Schweitzer's and Johnson's had left, back out to the Lautenbach's we went for a little more fun and family time.

The rest of the weekend was spent going to church, trying to rest and with some of our church family at our Pastor's open house. It's always good to get to hang out with church family more than just at church. Thank you Pearson's for opening your home up to everyone and being so hospitable.

Now on we go to the next holiday. Are you ready for the New Year and all it brings? I will say that if our son doesn't come before the end of this year, I'm extremely excited to welcome him in the New Year and see just what God has in store for our little famliy.

Chirstmas Time

Greetings everyone. I'm not going to lie, I'm extremely new to this whole idea of blogging. But for some unknown reason, having our first child seemed like an appropriate time to start one.

We're fast approaching the time of year when I think a lot of us look back and realize just how greatly we've been blessed by God and it gives us a time to really remember Him this Holiday season. I find myself a little less excited for Christmas this year and I'm having a hard time figuring out why. I actually love this time of year and all that it trully means. But I think that I'm more excited about the time after Christmas and would like to get the holiday over with and get onto January.

As most of you know, our little boy is suppose to be making his entrance into the world January 15th, 2011. We're quietly hoping that he comes early, but we know that it'll all be in God's timing and we're praying that he comes happy and healthy. We're so excited to finally get to meet him and are trying to get all the last minute projects finished up in the house and his room to make sure the house is "complete" for whenever he comes.

A bit of sad news for us is that since Katie is so far along and almost done being pregnant, our Dr. has recommended that we not go out of town. She doesn't want all the car bouncing and riding along to put Katie into labor, so we're redoing some plans and will hopefully get to have our house filled with the Schweitzer family over the holiday. As long as it's spent with the ones we love though, we'll be happy with whatever the turn out is.

I hope you all have a joyous holiday season and may Christ bless you and your famliy as he has ours. We'll make sure to keep you updated on the progress of our growing family.
